Just 15 minutes from your campsite in the Vendée, Lac du Jaunay welcomes you to enjoy the great outdoors in a peaceful, family-friendly setting.
On foot or by bike, come and discover the lake's shores on a 13 km route through a diverse landscape.
As you stroll along, the flora and fauna reveal themselves to the curious, and the observatory footbridge at the Moulin des Rochelles is the ideal place to observe wildlife. You may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of green tree frogs, grey herons, kingfishers, otters or tawny owls.
Choose your boat and let yourself glide along the water.
Departing from the pontoon at La Baudrière or Le Pré, you can opt for a short canoe or pedal-boat trip for 2 to 6 people at special rates, on presentation of your L'Évasion camping wristband or the campsite-stamped brochure.
It's a great way to spend time with family and friends on over 16 km of waterways.
To make the most of your day, why not have lunch on site? Bring your own picnic and enjoy a break in one of the picnic areas, or take a seat at the Auberge du Jaunay, ideally located facing the lake at Le Pré.
Fishing enthusiast
Fishing enthusiasts can enjoy this activity all year round. Pike, pike-perch, carp, perch and other fish await you on this exceptional site. A shared area has been set up at La Baudrière to enable families and people with reduced mobility to enjoy their pastime in complete safety, and almost 9 km of runs are available for night carp fishing. If you don't have a fishing card, you can easily obtain one at the tourist office or at the "Le Lagon" café in Landevieille.
Geocaching
You can also enjoy a more playful visit thanks to Geocaching. This unusual activity involves using GPS coordinates to search for or hide treasure, and will send you around the lake in the footsteps of Petit Sylvain. This modern-day treasure hunt combines the pleasures of hiking, games and discovery. And if you like this activity, you'll be able to find it at numerous sites in the Vendée!
